With BOSTON extension
Tour: 8105  BOSTON  BOSTON
Join us for a special departure to Classic New England to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower’s landing on Plymouth Rock. Your affordable escorted holiday in New England begins in Boston and on to Portland, Maine, for sightseeing in the historic maritime city. Travel through Bangor and on to Bar Harbor—gateway to Acadia National Park. Take in the rocky beaches and woodland landscapes, and watch for local wildlife such as moose, beaver, whales, and seabirds during your excursion to Acadia National Park. Travel inland through the Longfellow Mountains on your way to the White Mountains of New Hampshire for an overnight stay at Sunday River Resort in classic New England. Drive through beautiful Franconia Notch along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway through White Mountain National Forest—renowned for brilliant fall foliage. Stop at Vermont’s oldest sugarhouse in Montpelier, visit Woodstock with it village green reminiscent of 19th-century England. See fantastic views of Quechee Gorge State Park, and visit a charming Vermont country store in Rockingham. On to Rhode Island for sightseeing in Newport and the opportunity to visit the Vanderbilt “summer cottage”—The Breakers mansion.

Continue to the historic seaside port of Plymouth to step aboard the MAYFLOWER II—a full-scale reproduction of the tall ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth Harbor in 1620—400 years ago! Explore the 17th-Century English Village, PLIMOTH PLANTATION with live demos on blacksmithing, farming, and cooking. Visit the Wampanoag Homesite and the Native People there. Step inside a wetu (house) and experience the traditions of the people who have lived in this region for more than 10,000 years. Join in a very special nautical event to sail with the Mayflower II from Plymouth to Provincetown, the first landing of the Pilgrims. Your vessel will sail behind the iconic Mayflower II (weather permitting). Enjoy free time to explore the seaside town of Provincetown at the northern tip of Cape Cod, then set sail in the late afternoon for Boston. Take a guided tour of historic landmarks along the Freedom Trail, including Boston Common, Old State House, and the Old North Church—where Paul Revere began his famous midnight ride. A memorable New England holiday to be sure!
